    Installation horrors

Hi! I'm a complete dumb ass because I can not work out how to install this program. I have downloaded and installed all that is required. I am not sure about the sql server bit as I did not get the same screens as the instructions, but I do have a db created for the web ready program. How do you? Browse to http://<yourdomain>/install/install.aspx. There is no install dir in the zip you download. There is no .sln file to build a solution either, as in the readme file. I'm pulling my hair out trying to get this going. Does anyone have a complete idiots guide to installing this, it couldn't be that hard could it.

    Cheers awaiting my salvation.

Could you tell us if you downloaded the Web Ready version or the Source Version first?  Both versions should have an install directory as I have run both.... but lets get a few more details.  Also when you created the db did you use "Full-Text Indexing"?

It was the web ready version, and I believe the db was with full text indexing.

    Cheers

If you want a solution you can build you will have to go with the source version.  I just re-downloaded the webready version and there is an install directory in it.  I would suggest however that if you want to do any customization other than css changes that you get the source version.  I tried the webready version on my first project and was not able to customize it enough so I had to ge the source version anyway.

I know this did not exactly answer your question, but you should probably check your download again and see if it just didnt extract everything.
